Marcos Vedovetto’s work balances art, inspiration, color and composition with
an immersive commitment and dedicated work ethic. His videos and
photographsexplore the way we connect to place and with each other focusing
on gatherings, dance, acting and art. From Brazil, Marcos is a dancer and
choreographer pursuing his dream in the United States for the past seventeen
years putting down roots by becoming an American citizen. As a professional
dancer, Marcos has showcased his talents in dance festivals, concerts and onTV.
He currently works as a dancer for the San Francisco Opera Ballet and other
dance companies. Marcos' passion for directing began at age 23 from watching
music videos on MTV. After moving to New York City in 2006, his creative
curiosity led him to photograph everything in his environment. He became​​
especially fascinated with filming birds while contemplating his career path as a
professional director.
With his passion for the arts Marcos was determined to get into school to
formally study filmmaking and hone his craft by learning the technical aspects
of his chosen career. This opportunity came when Marcos moved to California.
With the help and inspiration of a dear friend, he began his studies in 2019 at
Laney College in Oakland. During his first semester, Marcos wrote, produced
and directed his first short film "Heart Dancing". This dance-themed video
earned him a scholarship from The National Academy of Television Arts and
Sciences in San Francisco. In his second semester, he created a short
documentary as well as another short dance film called “Dreamer”, which would
be his first submission in many film festivals around the world.
Marcos is a dreamer with the gift of manifesting those dreams into beautiful art.
His knowledge of dance, experience and great vision have taken him through an
amazing journey. His ability to work with actors, dancers and ordinary people
shines through his body of work. His uncanny skill directing subjects to find
channels to emote authentically in front of the lens is evident throughout his
stills and videos. Marco's love for expression, authenticity and beauty, but most
of all, for narrative art and storytelling, can be seen clearly in every element of
his work. Strong, sensitive and compassionate, Marcos Vedovetto has devoted
his life to pursuing his art and continues to live by his values of gratitude, hard
work and a creative evolution that has led this intrepid dreamer to the realization of his goals.
